Nice Onsen with beautiful mountain scenery. the buffet dinner and breakfast were good. They had a decent variety of Japanese and Western dishes available. the location was also nice, high up in the mountains and away from any distractions of the city. the free pickup from the nearest station was convenient.
The accommodations were subpar. the room was old and outdated, with minimal amenities.

Spent my Christmas holiday in this hotel and it was an amazing experience! The onsen was the highlight of the stay, not only was it sulphuric, but it also had an incredible view of the snow-covered mountains. The Japanese and Western buffet style meal was delicious, with fresh vegetables and pasta. The staff was accommodating and helpful, despite the language barrier. The pick-up service from the nearest station was also a big plus.
The hotel is quite isolated, with little around except for the ski resort. It was a bit difficult to find transportation and the hotel's website is only available in Japanese, making it hard to gather information beforehand.

This hidden gem is a perfect place for a peaceful getaway, surrounded by mountains and near to a lovely Onsen area. the Japanese, style rooms are well, maintained and provide all necessary amenities, while some offer breathtaking views. the buffet breakfast offers a delicious mix of Japanese and Western dishes, and the sulphur Onsen is a highlight, in particular the open, air one with a stunning scenery. the free pick up service from Karuizawa station makes it easy to access.
Some guests might struggle with the lack of English communication from staff and the website only being available in Japanese.
